Samples of the pearl oysters pinctada radiata were collected from Moqam (Jat. 26 50 ooNand long. 53 27 ooE) on October and January 1992 and were analyzed to study the relationship among linear measurement. Simple linear regression has revealed that there is significant relationship between APM and HL, dimension of pinctada radiata, ln Moqam (p=0.95) This formula is calculated to be: Y= 0.866 + 0.74 X (Y=Shell length and X=Hinge length).....

The study was conducted to identify parasite and to investigate the extent and intensity of infection in female sturgeons. Babolsar and Bandar_Turk men fishing grounds in Mazandaran province were selected as study sites. A total of 346 fishes were examined of which 89 fishes (25.6%) were infected with the parasite. Contamination rate in Huso huso and Acipenser guldenstadti Brandt were determined to be greater than other species.Study of averaged absolute fecundity and percent of infected eggs showed a lower intensity of infection in sturgeons......

The experiment was carried out in Bandar Lengeh coastal waters to evaluate the feasibility of larvae Collection (spat catching) for edible oyster saccostrea cucullata. The spat collectors included branches of local tree & bushes, oyster shells (in chain & panel) automobile tire and cemented ceramic tiles. The cemented ceramic tiles showed by far the best result with the mean of 9750 oyster per m2......

Anzali lagoon is one of the most important wetlands in the southwestern part of the Caspian sea. The lagoon, once being in suitable habitat for spawning of commercial fishes particularly sturgeons has been exposed to various sources of pollution originating mainly from urban and industrial sewages distracting habitats and lowering number of migratory spawner fishes. I.F.R.T.O conducted a Joined research project with F.A.O for two years (1991_1992) on the planktonic benthic and fishery resources of the lagoon. 18 stations were established over the lagoon and connecting rivers for plankton and benthos studies. Every other week 9 stations were surveyed. The study revealed that the family Tubificidac was dominant followed by larvae of chironomidae. Odonata (Naiads stage) had the lowest abundance In the lagoon in 1991 and it was the same for cumacea in 1992. The lowest abundance of benthic macrofauna during the study period was detected in station No. 1 situated in the mouth of the water.....

A plankton survey was carried out in estuaries of Khamir and Tiab southeastern Bandar_Abass from August 1991 to June 1992. During the study 31 genus of phytoplanktons and 23 family class and genus of zooplanktons were identified. Also abundance and distribution of these organisms were determined. Additionally monthly and seasonal variation among all planktons was investigated Identified phytoplanktons were from below genus: Rhizosolenia, Guinardia, Coscinodiscus, Biddulphia, Chaetoceros, Peridinium, Ceratium and Thalassionema. These phytoplanktons were present in both of the estuaries with varying frequency throughout the year. Of 200 plankton's Copepoda and Nauplii had the greatest abundance and distribution followed by lamellibranch larvae Oikopleura sp. polychaete Larvae and Prosobrunch, all of them present in both of the estuaries with different Frequencies......
