The study of Total Hemocyte Count and Total Protein Plasma in Shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei infected with Monodon baculovirus
The investigation of Total Hemocyte Count (THC) and Total Protein Plasma (TPP) in shrimp
juvenile Litopenaeus vannamei that exposed with Monodon Baculovirus (MBV) was carried
out. Three hundred and sixty shrimps with average weight 7 to 12 g were selected from Heleh
site in Bousher province and transported to Iran Shrimp Research Institute. The shrimp was
acclimated during two days for stress reduction and adaptation. The shrimps were cheeked by
PCR for WSSV, MBV, HPV, TSV, IHHNV and NHP and the result showed they are free of
these diseases. The experiment was designed with selected 60 shrimps in triplicate as
treatment and exposed with MBV during 12 hours and control group with triplicate without
exposing with MBV. The hemolymph was withdrawn from abdominal segments of samples
for measuring THC and TPC evaluation at designed hours (0, 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96). The
PCR test confirmed the MBV in treatment and the control were free of viruses. The results
showed that the difference of THC and TPP value between treatment and control group
during the experiment was significant (P < 0.05). This finding can be used for assessing the
health of shrimp culture and prevention of MBV.

Dietary toxicity of colloidal silver nanoparticles in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
To evaluate the dietary toxicity of colloidal silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) in rainbow trout, fish
were fed with diets containing 0, 20 and 50 mg.kg-1 of AgNPs for 5 weeks and then were fed free
nanoparticles diet for a week. During this period, fish growth, as well as silver accumulation and
elimination in liver, kidney, gastrointestinal tract and muscle were studied. According to our results,
high doses of AgNPs in the fish diet decreased appetite and fish growth. In addition, feeding fish
with the diet containing AgNPs (especially at higher doses) increases the accumulation of silver in
fish tissues (silver concentration in liver> kidney> gastrointestinal tract > muscle). Although, a oneweek
period considered for elimination of nanoparticles from fish tissues were not enough
however, caused some changes in the accumulation of silver in different organs of the fish.
Observed effects due to fish feeding with diets containing silver nanoparticles, suggests that
nanoparticle ingestion could affect the fish health. Therefore, preventing the entry of these new
materials into the food chain of aquatic organisms seems to be necessary.

The proximate composition of brown seaweed Sargassum lentifollium was investigated in
this study along with analysis of some physicochemical parameters of Chabahar Bay water. The
relationship between the nutritive components of this species and environmental parameters was
established. Crude protein content varied from 8.05±1.15% of dry weight to 12.29±1.10%,
carbohydrate from 31.11±2.03% to 25.11±2.13%, humidity from 15.21±1.00% to 19.22±1.11%
with differences significantly before and after monsoon seasons, respectively while ash content
varied from 26.11±2.43% to 24.11±1.40%, total fat from 2.11±0.43 % to 1.80±0.40% , total fiber
from 10.34±2.21% to 11.84±0.33% and astaxantin content (ppm) from 104.11±1.00 to
97.20±1.18 before and after monsoon season respectively without any significant
differences(P>0.05). Regarding to physicochemical parameters of sea water, the result showed there
are differences between salinity, dissolved oxygen, water temperature, nitrate, phosphate,
chlorophyll a and c before and after monsoon season significantly while there are not in pH, silicate
and chlorophyll b. Statistical analysis computed among the environmental and biochemical
parameters suggested the potential role played by the abiotic parameters on biosynthetic pathways
of seaweed.

Identification of larval stages of lantern fish in Iranian waters of Oman Sea
The fish larvae identification survey was carried out in Iranian waters of Oman Sea from Hormuz
strait to Gwader Bay in 2009 at pre and post monsoon periods. Sampling was done by plankton net
with 300 μ mesh size. Totally, 168 specimens were collected that belong to the three genera
BenthosemaØ Diaphus and Lampadena. Two species named Benthosema pterotum, B.fibulatum
were identified. B.pterotum has pigment on the tip of the lower jaw and snout whereas B
.fibulatum lacks these discriminative characters. Two genera Diaphus and Lampadena have a row
of melanophores in post-anal region ventrally which discriminate them from Benthosema. Diaphus
is separated from Lampadena with a small melanophore at the hypural.

Effect of different diets on fecundity, development time and body size of freshwater copepod Eucyclops serrulatus
The effect of five different diets consisting of green algae Scenedesmus quadricauda,
cereal plant meal (wheat+white+canola+barley), fish food meal, mixed manure powder
(chicken manure+cattle manure), and baker's yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) were
investigated on fecundity rate, larval development time and body length in freshwater
copepod Eucyclops serrulatus. A complete randomized design was employed using an
individual gravid female in 50ml vials at 26ºC water temperature. The maximum fecundity
was obtained in copepods fed on fish diet (18.6±1.08, eggs /female mean±SD) followed in
order by baker's yeast (17.3±3.19), cereal plant meal (13±2.45), Scenedesmus (9.3±0.41), and
mixed manure powder (8.6±0.82). The larval developmental time of copepod E. serrulatus
was significantly different in copepods fed on examined diets. The mean shortest naupliar
time (8.3±0.81 days) and copepodit time (1.0±0.70 days) were observed in copepods fed on
fish food meal with a significant difference compared to other examined treatments. In
addition, length and width of naupliar, copepodit, and adult of copepod E. serrulatus
increased when copepods fed on fish diet and baker's yeast.

Genetic variations of Iranian and French stocks of Rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
Rainbow trout, Oncorhynchus mykiss is the most important cold water farmed fish as a nonindigenous
species in Iran. Eyed eggs have been imported from different countries to Iran. In this
study, genetic diversity of 50 fish (male and female) from Iranian generation and 24 fish from
French generation were evaluated. Six microsatellite markers including OMM1019 ØOMM1036
ØOMM1307 Ø OmyFGT5TU ØOmy77DU and Omy207UoG were applied. Average number of
observed alleles in the Iranian and the French stocks were 6.68 and 6.83, respectively. Average
number of effective alleles in the Iranian and French stocks were 3.13 and 3.45, respectively. Mean
expected and observed heterozygosis was 0.68, 0.53 and 0.71, 0.61 in Iranian and French stocks,
respectively. The results showed significant deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium at the
most of loci à stock. Fixation index Fst calculated based on allelic frequency between two stocks
was 0.058 with significant difference between 2 stocks. The results of this study showed
insignificant genetic differentiation based on six microsatellite loci.

The effects of phytoestrogens Matricaria recutita on growth, maturation of oocytes in the three spot gourami (Trichogaster trichopterus)
Chamomile is a rich source of phytoestrogens these compounds have antioxidant, anticancer . In
this study, the effects of chamomile on growing oocytes in immature female gourami fish were
examined. Thus 60 immature female gourami fish with an average weight of 2-3 g of 6-treated
group were analyzed. Treatments in a completely randomized experimental design with a dose of
chamomile (10-20-30-50 mg/kg fish) along with control (no injection) and ethanol control (solvent
injection) and with three replicates were tested. The fish adaptation to the environment lasted 3
days. The extract injections were done for 20 days, in 10 periods, every other day. In order to
histological study ,three days after end of the experiment, the ovarian tissue was removed and
weighed, tissue processing and staining steps done with hematoxylin- eosin . At last the
histological structure of the ovaries and the average percentage of treated fish gonadal indices were
compared with the control group. According to our results of gonadal index, there was no
significant difference between the control groups with receiving Ethanol (p>0.05). Histological
results showed that increasing the dose of chamomile extract accelerate oocyte maturation in three
spot gourami . This is the fourth treatment (dose, mg / kg 50) to show its obvious. The difference
between oocyte diameter was observed with increasing doses of Chamomile and in comparison
with the control group, the difference was significant (p

Total replacement of fish oil by vegetable oil with a return to fish oil in Caspian Sea salmon (Salmo trutta caspius) 1: Growth performance, flesh fatty acid profile, and lipid metabolism
The effect of complete substitution of vegetable oils (cottonseed, soybean and grape seed) and a
return to fish oil diets on growth parameters, survival and metabolism of free fatty acids in the diet
of fish in the Caspian Sea, was investigated. Four experimental diets containing 100% fish oil,
cottonseed oil, grape seed oil and soybean oil were fed to triplicate group of fingerlings (initial
weight 3.6 g) for 60 days. No significant difference was detected for weight gain,
specific growth rate and survival. Fillet fatty acid composition was analyzed and the results showed
that fillet fatty acid composition was highly affected by dietary fatty acid profile. The highest
accumulation rate of linoleic acid and linolenic acid was observed in the fish fed vegetable oil based
diets. The results showed that feeding vegetable oil based diets stimulated elongation and
desaturation pathway of C18 PUFA in fingerlings. However, the highest amount of EPA, DHA
arachidonic acid (AA) was observed in fish oil based diet. At the end of the second period, after
return to fish oil based diet, muscle fatty acid composition (total saturated fatty acid, linoleic and
linolenic acid) of the fish fed previously vegetable oil based diets were still different to those fed
fish oil based diet.

The effects of the injection tag on growth and mortality of green tiger prawn juveniles (Penaeus semisulcatus DeHaan, 1844)
Growth rate and mortalities of tagged and untagged shrimps among six tanks, each 300 l consists of
30 untagged shrimps and 30 tagged shrimps were studied in two stations Bandargah and Delvar
during 4 months from February to June 2012. Weights of 10 specimens were randomly measured.
The mortality of two groups was evaluated by counting of remained shrimps of which the average
of survival rate was 52.0% for tagged and 44.5% for untagged shrimps in Bandargah. The mortality
rates among the Control and tagged group were 63 and 59%. The mortality for the examined groups
was significantly different between two stations suggesting that management and environmental
conditions were the most influencing factors on the mortality rates. The results of ANOVA showed
no significant difference in the weight growth of tagged and control groups. The results of the
present study showed that the injected elastomer tags did not effect on growth and mortality rates.

The control of recovery process with clove tree (Eugenia caryophyllata) in rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss)
In order to investigate the effect of different temperature of anesthetic (clove tree) and
recover (anesthetic-free water) solutions on recovery process, The anesthetic induction times
and recovery times of 540 fingerlings of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) weighing 3.2
± 0.2 g in anesthesia/ recovery solutions with cross-combined of temperature of 5,11 and 17
°C as experimental treatments (9 treatments) were compared. The anesthesia was induced
by170 ppm of aqueous clove (Eugenia caryophyllata) solution. Results showed that both
induction and recovery times were adversely temperature-dependent. Recovery times of
treatments, related to temperature of anesthetic solutions and their temperature, were
significantly different (P < 0.05). Our results indicated that mean recovery time (three
temperature treatments) of the fish exposed to the lower temperature anesthetic solutions
generally decreased opposing with higher anesthetic solutions. The lowest recovery time
(61±11.1 seconds) in17°C anesthetic-free water occurred in fishes induced to 5°C anesthetic
solution. In contrast, the highest recovery time (523±154 seconds) in 5°C water happened in
fishes induced to 17°C anesthetic solution. Warm and cold thermal difference in anesthetic
and recover solutions could extend recovery time 1 up to 8 minutes. Regarding to aim and

Fish larval daily assemblage variations in coastal waters of the Chahbahar Bay
The survey of fish larvae assemblage variation was done in 2013 seasonally at the coastal
areas of Southeastern side of Chabahar Bay. Sampling was done in 3 stations at day and night
periods by a Bongo-Net with 300μ of mesh size. 29 families were identified. Clupeidae,
Gobiidae and Blenniidae were dominant with more than 50% relative abundance. The PCA
result was shown there were two separated groups among day and night fish larval
assemblages. Blenniidae ØScombridae and Clupeidae in day times, Clupeidae ØGobiidae and
Sparidae in night times were more dominant among different families. Station 1 had more
fish larvae abundance in autumn in nights and days (54.77 and 79.67 larvae per 10 meter).
The average of Shannon index was (0.54 ±0.88 and 0.63± 0.97) in days and nights
respectively.Significant increase of larval abundance at station 3 in nights could be due to
reduced vessel traffic.
