This study deals with pearl oyster fishery in Bandar-e-Moqam and Bandar-e-Nakhiloo in Iran from July to August 1993. The total landings of pearl oyster were 185 tonnes (2.3 million units) with a total marked value of approximately 64 million Rls. Out of the 20000 examined pearl oysters 561 (2.8%) contented pearls, only 14% of which had commercial value (>3mm). Dorso-Ventral Measurment (DVM) of the majority of the caught pearl oysters lays between 70 - 80 mm.
